Urban Conference
June 12, 2008 – June 16, 2008
The purpose of this Urban Vineyard conference is to encourage and challenge Urban Ministry practitioners as they advance the Kingdom of God in their Urban settings. In addition, we seek to Inspire and Equip those exploring Urban Ministry.
(From the conference website )
“How: We will have 5 main sessions where pastors with over 100 collective years of Urban Ministry experience will speak on the various aspects of the Urban Mission to which God has called His people.
In addition, we will have over 25 workshops at the main site that will be led by experienced leaders such as LeQue Heidkamp from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rand Tucker from Hyde Park, Chicago, Alex Medina from Oak Park/Cicero, Illinois, and more.
We will also send the attendees to visit 10 sites throughout the city of Chicago where they can eat at neighborhood restaurants and learn from Urban practitioners on-site. We will visit such ministries as Lawndale Christian Health Center, Asia Fellowship (ministry to Muslims and Hindus), YMEN (leadership training for teenagers), Hip-Hop Church, and others on the cutting edge of Urban Ministry.”
